The Lone Cypress is an Advertisement for the Rugged Individual

While the battle has been intense and many of us have battle scars, God has kept us, God is faithful.

The Lone Cypress is a 250-year-old tree standing as an advertisement for the rugged individual. Experts think around year 1813 The Lone Cypress seedling took root on a chunk of rock on the Monterey Peninsula. The Lone Cypress has stood firm after being scarred by fire and endured harsh weather conditions including storms that wiped out the surroundings.

Over many years, the Lone Cypress has gained popularity and now stands for persistence, beauty, and grace amid adversity.

We often go through times in our life where we don’t know what to do next, where to go next. Sometimes we may question God, why is this happening to me? God, what are you doing here? Often, we ask him to bring us out of the storm we are in.

Instead of asking God to bring you out of the storm, ask Him for the strength to endure it.

Like the Lone Cyprus, we must stand firm on our Rock, God. Trust that God won’t let the waves or hash weather conditions destroy you. The human brain doesn’t have the capacity to understand fully what God’s purpose is. This is where faith comes in.

We can be sure that with our Rock, we are strong enough to withstand the storm.

Like the Lone Cypress, we must strive to exemplify beauty, grace, and persistence. Hold tight to those three words. Our number one mission in this life is to make disciples for the Kingdom of God.

Whatever storm is coming against you, persevere with grace and beauty because you never know who is watching you. Be a light!

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” Isaiah 43:2
